Bliss Project
Project Summary

Major construction at the Bliss Project is complete.  A severe fish passage barrier has been successfully removed
and replaced with a bridge.  The creek channel has been restored and now allows steelhead trout to access the Carpinteria Creek watershed.  Over the next several months, tree-planting and finishing touches will be completed.
Before:  The Arizona crossing blocked fish passage, and led to worsening erosion
and scouring at the downstream end. This site had been one of the keystone barriers in the creek.

After     After
After:  The restored creek channel flows unobstructed through the site.  Migrating fish
will be able to swim upstream and the land owners will have safe and convenient access.
