September-October 2008
Before construction, the concrete stream crossing ("Arizona crossing") presents a barrier to fish migration.
A geotechnical investigation was performed to determine soil properties.
An excavator lifts a large and drops a large boulder to break apart the concrete slab.
Concrete fragments and extra soil are removed from the stream crossing.
Soil materials are hauled out of the crossing and mechanically sorted.
Sorted soil, cobbles, and rocks will be used to restore the creek channel to a natural gradient.
